Boeing offers 10% wage increase to SPEEA to avoid strike
Boeing has presented a final contract proposal to the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) to prevent a potential strike. The union leadership has recommended that its members approve the deal.
The agreement covers more than 16,000 engineers, scientists, and technicians, primarily located in the Puget Sound region, with additional members in Oregon, California, and Utah. Key components of the proposal include a 10% guaranteed wage increase upon approval, followed by an additional 4% increase in March 2027. For the years 2028 through 2030, the contract includes wage pools of 6% with a guaranteed minimum annual increase of 4%.
In addition to wage adjustments, the proposal includes revised language regarding work-from-home policies and overtime limits for certain members. This negotiation marks the first full contract discussion between Boeing and SPEEA in 14 years. The current agreement is set to expire on October 6.
