Boeing reaches 200 737-800 freighter conversions

Boeing has reached a milestone with the delivery of its 200th 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The aircraft, named Florence and registered as ZK-TXH, was delivered to Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management (BBAM) and leased to Texel Air Australasia.

The milestone was celebrated at Auckland Airport on October 10. Launched in 2016 with the first delivery in 2018, the BCF program aims to repurpose retired passenger aircraft for cargo use. To date, the program has accounted for approximately 4% of the 4,991 commercial 737-800 units ever produced.

Boeing currently holds more than 250 orders and commitments for the BCF program. While Boeing is a major provider, other companies such as Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) also offer conversion programs for the 737-800 model.
