Boeotia road safety project receives 1 million euro funding

The Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, has signed a decision to allocate approximately 1.1 million euros to ensure the accessibility and safety of the national and provincial road networks in Boeotia during the 2026–2028 period.

Included in the Regional Development Program for Central Greece 2026–2030, the funding aims to maintain uninterrupted traffic during extreme weather events such as heavy snowfall, frost, and landslides. The project covers approximately 555 kilometers of roads divided into six operational sectors.

The plan involves leasing specialized machinery and hiring necessary personnel to perform snow removal, applying anti-freeze materials, and clearing debris from landslides to maintain road safety and connectivity for local communities.
