Bogor City implements sanctions for ride-hailing driver traffic violations
The Bogor City Government has entered into a collaboration with online transportation application providers to discipline ride-hailing drivers who violate traffic laws. Following coordination between the city government, the Transportation Agency, and local police, a new enforcement policy has been established to address frequent public complaints.
Drivers found committing violations such as driving against the flow of traffic, riding on sidewalks, or carrying passengers without helmets will face tiered sanctions. These penalties range from warnings and temporary account suspensions to the most severe consequence: the termination of their partnership with the application provider. Vice Mayor Jenal Mutaqin stated that the agreement aims to instill discipline through a code of ethics, utilizing both government reports and user-submitted complaints through application channels.
