Bogor minibus accident kills driver after brake failure

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the Ciawi area of Bogor Regency, West Java. An Elf minibus traveling from the direction of Puncak toward Ciawi reportedly suffered brake failure while navigating a descent on Jalan Raya Jenderal Hoegeng.

Before plunging into a river, the minibus collided with a Honda BRV and struck a kiosk building. The vehicle ultimately fell approximately 15 meters into a river. The driver of the Elf minibus, identified by initials S, sustained severe injuries and later died at the hospital.

Emergency responders and Bogor Regency Police faced difficulties during the evacuation process due to damaged bridge infrastructure and overhead utility cables, requiring assistance from PLN (the state electricity company).
