Bogotá and Colombian social programs initiate monetary transfers
The Bogotá District has commenced the October 2026 payment cycle for the 'Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado' (IMG) program. This economic support strategy targets households and individuals living in poverty and vulnerability. The current cycle allocates over 45 billion pesos to benefit more than 190,000 households, representing approximately 740,000 people. The program includes specific components for extreme poverty, early childhood, and education.
Payments are being distributed through various digital wallets and financial channels, including Dale!, MOVii, Daviplata, Bancamía, Nequi, Banco Caja Social, and Efecty. Beneficiaries are notified of available funds via text message.
Separately, the national 'Renta Ciudadana' program, managed by Prosperidad Social, continues its efforts to alleviate poverty through monetary transfers. The program prioritizes households with children in early childhood and persons with disabilities. While the program provides a portal for beneficiaries to check their status using identification details, specific dates for the next payment cycle have not yet been confirmed by Prosperidad Social.
