Regional updates on transport fares, employment, and social benefits

Various regional updates regarding transportation costs and employment opportunities have been announced. In San Luis, Argentina, Transpuntano announced a 20% increase in urban transport fares, raising the cost from $1,000 to $1,200, effective August 24, 2026. Similarly, in Tucumán, Argentina, vehicle inspection (VTV) fees have risen by up to 33%, with cars now costing $60,000.

In Colombia, the District Secretariat of Economic Development, through its ‘Talento Capital’ strategy, has opened a virtual call for 100 job vacancies for construction officials. The initiative, supported by MIP INTERNACIONAL TRADING S.A.S., aims to boost formal employment in urban infrastructure.

In Michoacán, Mexico, officials clarified that the Gertrudis Bocanegra student transport scholarship will not be affected by recent public transport fare hikes. Additionally, new inclusive mobility measures in Morelia will allow individuals with disability credentials to ride the city's cable car system free of charge.
