Bogotá and Soacha face scheduled water service cuts July 7‑9, 2026

The Bogotá water utility (EAAB) will suspend supply in multiple neighborhoods of the capital and in the nearby municipality of Soacha from July 7 to July 9, 2026, to carry out maintenance and repair work on distribution networks. In Bogotá, cuts are planned in the Kennedy, Suba, Usaquén, Engativá, San Cristóbal and Puente Aranda districts, with shutdowns lasting up to 24 hours and starting between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. depending on the area. Soacha’s barrios of Despensa, León XIII, Los Olivos, La María and others will experience similar interruptions for the same reasons, including network tie‑offs, valve installations and macrometer verification.

Residents are advised to fill reserve tanks, use stored water within 24 hours, and prioritize essential uses such as hand‑washing and food preparation. The utility will dispatch tanker trucks to hospitals, clinics and high‑traffic public sites upon request.
