Bogotá Media Marathon 2026 draws 42,000 runners
The 26th edition of the Bogotá Media Marathon (mmB) takes place on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Organizers expect about 42 000 participants representing roughly 50 nationalities, making it one of the city’s largest running events.
A roster of elite international distance runners has been confirmed, including Kenya’s Beatrice Cheserek, Ethiopia’s Aberu Ayana and Verónica Nyaruai, Peru’s Sheyla Paucar and Ecuador’s Katherine Tisalema, among others. Their presence raises the competitive level and adds global attention to the race.
To ensure safety, the District’s Mobility Secretariat has implemented temporary road closures and detours across central, northern and western avenues. The 21 km and 10 km courses both start and finish at Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar, with staggered elite‑wave starts at 08:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. respectively.
Local textile firm MediVaric supplies compression stockings endorsed by the Colombian Association of Vascular Surgery and approved by INVIMA and ICONTEC. The garments are promoted as helping runners before, during and after the marathon, and have been highlighted in event‑related media.
