Bogotá Aquatic Complex reopens after major renovation

The Bogotá Aquatic Complex has reopened to the public and athletes following a comprehensive renovation project. The District Institute of Recreation and Sport (IDRD) invested 5,092 million Colombian pesos to upgrade the facility, which was originally inaugurated in August 2005.

The majority of the investment, totaling 4,955 million pesos, was dedicated to the complex's four pools: an Olympic-sized pool (25 by 50 meters), a semi-Olympic training pool, a diving pool with a depth of five meters, and a recreational children's pool. Renovations included the replacement of geomembranes, waterproofing, tile renewal, floor and beach maintenance, and the adjustment of stairs and handrails.

In addition to the pools, the project addressed the facility's roof, gym, restaurant, and other complementary spaces to improve technical conditions, safety, and overall functionality. The complex features grandstands with a capacity for 1,500 people.
