Bogotá doctor charged in deaths of four women after aesthetic surgeries

The Colombian Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía General de la Nación) has brought charges against Gabriel Fernando Cubillos Valencia for his alleged responsibility in the deaths of four women and the severe physical complications of three others following aesthetic procedures in Bogotá.

Investigations revealed that Cubillos promoted plastic and reconstructive surgery services through social media, offering surgical packages valued up to 80 million pesos, sometimes with 50% discounts. Patients were required to pay 3 million peso advances to schedule interventions. Authorities found that some patients were moved to facilities that allegedly lacked the necessary medical protocols and equipment.

During searches of several clinics in Bogotá, investigators recovered evidence including informed consent forms signed in blank and medical records containing the signatures of specialists who reportedly had no contact with the patients. Medicolegal reports confirmed that the deaths were linked to complications arising from the surgical procedures.
