Bogotá expands mobile women’s services and safety campaign ahead of World Cup
The Bogotá mayor’s office has launched several district‑level initiatives targeting women and public safety. The mobile Unit Casa de Todas completed 100 territorial rounds and 42 itinerant sessions between January and May 2026, reaching 94 women sex workers and 254 additional women, and recording 4,138 integrated attendances that include psychosocial counseling, legal advice, health‑prevention checks and links to vaccination services. The program runs alongside the city’s “Brújula para la Igualdad” strategy that offers technical training and financial empowerment to low‑income women.
In parallel, the Secretaría Distrital de Seguridad, Convivencia y Justicia rolled out a citizen‑pedagogy campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Teams patrol high‑traffic fan zones, promoting tolerance, responsible alcohol use and conflict‑resolution under the slogan “Somos un equipo de 8 000 000 de titulares”. The effort follows a recent violent incident at the Portal 20 de Julio and a drug‑trafficking bust involving 33 kg of marijuana, reinforcing preventive policing.
The Secretaría de la Mujer also integrated psycho‑juridical services and home‑care relief into its Modelo de Asistencia Personal. From November 2021 to February 2026 the model delivered 96 297 personalized interventions to 11 150 citizens, providing respite for caregivers and legal‑psychological support to women in vulnerable households across Fontibón, Kennedy, Puente Aranda and Bosa. Officials cite a 60 % drop in femicide‑related murders linked to the broader care system.
