Bogotá hosts 19th edition of Bicycle Week

Bogotá is hosting the 19th edition of ‘Semana de la Bicicleta’ (Bicycle Week), which runs through October 3. This year, the event is integrated with ‘Semana de la Seguridad Vial’ (Road Safety Week) under the theme ‘La bici nos integra’ or ‘Tu movida nos integra’.

The celebration includes over 20 to 30 free activities designed to promote urban mobility, social inclusion, and road safety. Programming features mountain biking routes, inclusive rides such as ‘Ciclopaseo a Ciegas’ using tandem bicycles for people with and without visual impairments, and educational workshops.

Key initiatives include the ‘Más Mujeres en Bici’ graduation ceremony, the launch of a road safety course for cyclists, and specialized safety training for children. The city currently supports more than 886,000 daily bicycle trips through a network of over 683 kilometers of cycling infrastructure.
