Bogotá hosts 28th International Documentary Film Showcase

The 28th edition of the Bogotá International Documentary Showcase (MIDBO) will take place from October 27 to November 4. Organized by the Colombian Corporation of Documentalists ALADOS, the event will feature 120 films from 40 different countries across twelve venues in the capital.

The program includes competitions for national and Ibero-American feature films and short films. It also features a special section titled ‘Mirrors: Gestures of Reparation,’ which includes 14 films addressing memory, restorative justice, gender-based violence, and archival recovery.

Special spotlights will honor filmmakers Claire Simon, Ignacio Agüero, and Santiago Álvarez, alongside a retrospective of Cuban filmmaker Sara Gómez. Additionally, the ‘Expanded Documentary’ section will explore sound through installations, analog cinema, and live sonic creation.
