Bogotá hosts FantasoFest film festival while Colombia's Comic Con draws thousands

The FantasoFest Ibero‑American Fantastic Cinema Showcase took place in Bogotá from 13 to 19 July 2026 at the Cinemateca de Bogotá. Organized by FantasoLab and Oveja Eléctrica with support from the Cinemateca, the festival presented nine feature films—including GAUA (Spain), EL RITUAL DEL NAHUAL (Mexico), EL SUSURRO (Uruguay/Argentina), APPS (Chile/Argentina) and LA VIRGEN DE LA TOSQUERA (Argentina/Mexico/Spain)—and a programme of ten Ibero‑American short films. A parallel laboratory for fantastic‑genre projects also ran to support new productions.

Comic Con Colombia 2026 was held at Corferias in Bogotá from 26 to 29 June 2026, marking the event’s 18th edition. The four‑day pop‑culture gathering attracted thousands of fans of anime, comics, video games, cosplay and superhero cinema. High‑profile guests included actor Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford/Lex Luthor) and Jeff Ward (Buggy from One Piece). The Japanese band FLOW performed their first ever concert in Colombia, and prominent Latin‑American voice actors Patricia Acevedo and Carlos Segundo took part in special sessions.
