Bogotá hosts horror film festival and terror events in October 2026

Colombia will host several horror-themed events in October 2026. The eighth edition of the Bogotá Horror Film Festival is scheduled from October 22 to 31. The festival, which focuses on horror, suspense, and dark fantasy, will feature the second Encuentro de Amantes del Género to connect industry professionals and include a pitch component for new projects. The main venue will be the Cinemateca de Bogotá, with additional screenings at various local sites. The festival also includes support for national production, such as an equipment rental prize for the Best National Short Film provided by 88 Films Productions.

Separately, Salitre Mágico will hold its eleventh Festival del Terror. Running from October 2 through November 1, the event includes access to haunted houses, mechanical attractions, and live music. Various passport options are available for attendees, offering different levels of access to the festival's attractions and haunted houses.
