Bogotá hosts inaugural Carranguero Festival in November
Bogotá will host its first Carranguero Festival on November 7 and 8, 2026, celebrating traditional Colombian peasant music. Organized by the District Institute of the Arts (Idartes), the event aims to promote musical circulation and honor the cultural diversity of the carranga tradition.
The festival will take place across two venues. On Saturday, November 7, performances will be held at the María Mercedes Carranza Mobile Stage in Parque San Andrés, Engativá. The lineup includes Monte Violeta, Pulido Son, Rumbambuquiando, El Son del Frailejón, and Los Fiesteros de Boyacá.
On Sunday, November 8, the festivities will continue at the La Media Torta Open-Air Theater. The event features a mix of local and national groups, including Los Rolling Ruanas, intended to strengthen the connection between artists and the public.
