Bogotá IDRD adds park fanzones for national football matches and a new ciclovía segment
The Bogotá District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) announced that two city parks – El Tunal in Tunjuelito and Fontanar del Río in Suba – will host open‑air fan zones with big screens for Colombia’s World Cup matches on June 17, 23 and 27. The initiative, part of the mayor’s "8 million fans" campaign, aims to decentralise viewing sites and boost community interaction during the tournament.
Separately, the city’s ciclovía will be extended in the north with a new route along Carrera 15, linking the existing Carrera Séptima corridor between calles 116 and 92. Operative staff will guide cyclists and pedestrians, ensuring a safe transition while construction continues on the new Carrera Séptima corridor. Both projects are intended to broaden public recreation opportunities and promote active, communal use of urban spaces.
