Bogotá IDRD opens sanctioning process against Sencia over El Campín pitch

The District Institute of Recreation and Sport (IDRD) has initiated an administrative sanctioning procedure against Sencia S.A.S., the concessionaire responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium. The investigation aims to determine if the company breached contractual obligations regarding the maintenance and condition of the stadium's grass.

The decision follows a report of alleged non-compliance submitted by the contract's supervisory body. Sencia has been summoned to a public hearing on October 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., where it may present its defense, provide evidence, and contest the allegations in accordance with Article 86 of Law 1474 of 2011. The proceedings could result in financial fines.

This action follows instructions issued by Bogotá Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán on October 14, 2026, to evaluate irregularities in the stadium's physical state. Additionally, the IDRD has increased oversight regarding a concert scheduled at the venue for October 31, requesting strict monitoring of the pitch's condition before, during, and after the event.
