Bogotá launches digital certificate platform for landlords

The Bogotá District Habitat Secretariat (SDHT) has launched an online platform allowing registered landlords and property sellers to download their certificates digitally. This tool is available 24/7 and is free of charge, aiming to accelerate digital transformation and reduce the need for in-person administrative procedures. The service specifically benefits individuals or legal entities managing five or more properties in the capital, as well as professionals involved in real estate promotion and sales.

Separately, discussions regarding the Colombian rental market highlight challenges faced by property owners. Critics point to bureaucratic delays and judicial inefficiencies when dealing with non-paying tenants. There are calls for legislative reform to expedite the eviction process and reduce the administrative hurdles that currently follow judicial rulings, which some argue contribute to impunity and legal uncertainty in the housing sector.
