Bogotá Metro launches job fair and permanent art program

The Bogotá Metro project is holding a job fair on July 14 at the Centro de Talento Creativo, offering more than 500 construction‑related positions for the Line 1 build. Organized by the District’s Secretariat of Economic Development and the Bogotá Employment Agency, the event targets workers with at least six months to one year of experience in roles such as electricians, hydraulic technicians, HVAC specialists, fire‑network technicians, instrument control technicians, drywall installers, plasterers, painters and construction helpers. Attendees can also receive free services including résumé advice, interview preparation and occupational counseling.

Separately, the Metro and the District Institute of the Arts announced that 17 permanent artworks will be installed in the façades of ten stations on the first line. The pieces, chosen through the "La vida que circula" call, will be displayed for 20 years and were selected from artists with a minimum ten‑year career, allowing the use of artificial‑intelligence tools under human‑authorial control. The artworks aim to integrate visual culture into public space and strengthen community ties to the new infrastructure.
