The Empresa Metro de Bogotá (EMB) has reported that construction of Bogotá Metro Line 1 reached 82.33% completion as of August 31, 2026. The project includes 17 kilometers of completed viaduct out of a total planned length of 23.9 kilometers, which will connect the Bosa Workshop Depot to Calle 72 on Avenida Caracas.

Operational testing is currently underway, with two trains performing simultaneous runs along the viaduct to evaluate signaling, speed control, and wireless communication systems. The city has already received 17 of the 30 planned six-car trains for the commercial fleet.

A significant technical milestone was reached with the completion of the first railway bridge at the intersection of Avenida Caracas and Calle 26. This 215-meter structure features a central span of 100 meters and two 57.5-meter lateral spans.
