Bogotá opens free sign‑ups for Festival Gabo talks and Cinemateca workshop
The public library network BibloRed has opened free online registration for the 14th Festival Gabo, a major Iberian‑American journalism event that will take place in Bogotá from 23 to 26 July 2026. The marathon of talks will be held at venues such as the Modern Gymnasium, Pontifical Javeriana University, Chapinero Happiness Center and the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Public Library. Panels will feature creators of finalist works in categories like Audio, Image, Photography, Coverage and Text, with speakers including Paloma Navarro, Isabel Cadenas, Joana Gorjão, Caio Cavechini, Ginna Morelo and others.
Meanwhile, the Cinemateca de Bogotá, in partnership with Idartes, is offering a free “Shadow‑theatre” workshop for children aged 6‑12 on 4 July 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30 at its cultural centre. Participants will learn to create silhouettes and puppets while reading the classic "Historias de Eusebio" by Ivar Da Coll. Registration is required through an online form due to limited spots. Both initiatives are part of a broader cultural program aimed at expanding access to audiovisual and literary education in the capital.
