Bogotá police capture apartment‑theft gang in Fontibón

Three suspected members of an apartment‑theft gang were arrested by the Police of Bogotá in the San Pedro Los Robles neighborhood of Fontibón, after surveillance captured them testing doors and trying different keys on houses. During the operation the suspects fled a stolen bicycle, which was recovered by officers. The three detainees – two men aged 34 and 23 and a 17‑year‑old adolescent – were placed under preventive detention while investigations continue. One of the arrested individuals had been released from prison six months earlier following a prior burglary conviction.
