Bogotá rolls out health‑access route and ramps up anti‑trafficking outreach

The Bogotá District has launched the “Ruta Distrital de Gestión y Resolución de Barreras de Acceso en Salud,” operating through the city’s 16 Casas de Justicia and six mobile justice units. The program aims to streamline citizens’ access to medicines, medical procedure authorizations and timely specialist appointments, offering administrative solutions before cases reach the courts. District Security Secretary Cesar Restrepo said the initiative reflects a modern view of justice that “prevents conflict before it reaches judicial desks.”

Separate district efforts address human trafficking, which the national police data show affects women in 65 % of reported cases. The District Women’s Secretariat will hold prevention and orientation sessions on July 30 at the El Salitre transport terminal and on July 31 at Parque Santander, following the identification of 42 possible trafficking cases and the referral of nine to the District Government for further action.
