Bogotá to host VII South American U7–U17 Chess Championship

The VII South American U7–U17 Chess Championship has been officially launched in Bogotá, Colombia. The international competition is scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 2 at the Palacio de los Deportes.

The event is expected to host approximately 700 young chess players and 1,000 companions from various nations, including Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, and Colombia.

During the launch at the Colombian Olympic Committee, officials including Ciro Solano Hurtado, president of the Colombian Olympic Committee, and José Gregorio Ramírez, president of the Colombian Chess Federation, emphasized the importance of the tournament for youth discipline and the region's capacity to host world-class sporting events.
