Juan Pablo Montoya and Sebastián Montoya to race at Barranquilla's Gran Malecón

On 16 August, Barranquilla’s Gran Malecón will host the “Circuito Pony Malta”, a motor‑sport festival that expects more than 10 000 fans. Former Formula 1 champion Juan Pablo Montoya and his son Sebastián Montoya will face off in a “Race of Champions” duel, each driving identical BMW M340i cars. Juan Pablo will also showcase historic machines such as his Williams FW25 and an IndyCar that won the 2000 Indianapolis 500, while Sebastián will display his 2024 Dallara F2 chassis.

The event, organized by Pony Malta, Ocesa, Páramo Lab and the Barranquilla mayor’s office, includes a parade of supercars, classic vehicle exhibitions, hot‑lap experiences and a closing concert featuring national artists. Admission is free and tickets are sold through Ticketmaster.
