Bogotá Train Derailment Leaves 600 Passengers Uninjured

A locomotive of the Tren de la Sabana derailed on Avenida NQS (Carrera 30) at Calle 63 in Bogotá, causing panic among roughly 600 passengers on board. Emergency services, including the Bogotá fire department and transit police, responded quickly, evacuated the passengers and secured the site. No injuries were reported, with officials stating “No se reportan personas lesionadas.”

The incident disrupted traffic on the major NQS corridor, prompting road closures and detours. Authorities worked to re‑rail the train and restore normal rail and road flow, while restricting mobility in the surrounding area until the situation was under control.
