TransMilenio bus collision injures passengers and halts service in Bogotá
Two articulated buses on Bogotá’s TransMilenio system collided on the Carrera Décima corridor near San Bernardo station, prompting a swift emergency response. Nine ambulances, police units and TransMilenio staff attended the scene, treating several injured passengers and transporting some to hospitals. The incident forced the temporary suspension of service at San Bernardo station and caused significant delays and congestion as buses were rerouted to mixed lanes.
Authorities launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash while working to clear the vehicles and restore normal operations on one of the city’s busiest transit corridors.
