Bogotá Tribunal ratifies arrest warrant for Carlos Ramón González

The Superior Tribunal of Bogotá has ratified the arrest warrant for Carlos Ramón González, the former director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (DAPRE). The decision follows a challenge by his defense regarding a previous extension of the warrant.

González is under investigation for his alleged role in a corruption network involving the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD). The charges include bribery, embezzlement, and money laundering. Prosecutors allege that while serving as DAPRE director, González ordered the transfer of 4,000 million pesos to the presidents of the Senate and the House of Representatives to secure legislative support for government initiatives.

Despite the active warrant, González has not been detained as he is currently residing in Nicaragua under asylum status.
