Bogotá woman dies after neighbor administers lethal anesthetic cocktail
Yenifer García Valencia, a 33-year-old woman, died in Bogotá during a home tattoo session after receiving an intravenous injection of fentanyl, ketamine, and midazolam. The National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences has classified the death as a violent death in the context of homicide, caused by a cocktail of central nervous system depressants.
The victim's husband, Jonathan Cantor, stated that the substances were administered by a neighbor who presented himself as a nurse. According to the family, the individual is known for performing liposuction and other aesthetic treatments at his own residence. Although the family expected local anesthesia to manage pain during the fourth tattoo session, the man administered the drugs intravenously, claiming it would not cause serious issues.
Forensic analysis confirmed that the administration occurred without prior medical assessment, vital sign monitoring, dose control, or emergency equipment. Approximately 30 minutes after the injection, García suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. The family has called upon the Attorney General's Office to expedite the investigation and secure the arrest of the suspect, who remains at large.
