Bogotá's Casas de Igualdad de Oportunidades expand women's services
The Bogotá District Secretariat for Women (SDMujer) has expanded its reach through the Casas de Igualdad de Oportunidades, providing comprehensive services to women across all 20 localities of the city. Between January 2020 and July 2026, 130,977 women accessed institutional services for guidance, training, and support for the first time.
These initial contacts resulted in 185,477 specific services, as users frequently engage with multiple programs such as educational leveling and physical well-being. Under the administration of Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán, 45,087 women have sought guidance through these community spaces.
The network operates through 19 physical locations and an interdisciplinary team in the Sumapaz locality, ensuring coverage in both urban and rural areas. Professional teams consisting of lawyers, psychologists, and administrative staff work to bring social offerings to vulnerable neighborhoods by providing information on fundamental rights and activating protection protocols when necessary.
