Bogotá's Idartes Offers Free Screening of Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes' in Chapinero

The Instituto Distrital de las Artes (Idartes), through the Cinemateca de Bogotá and in coordination with the District's Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports, will present a free public screening of Tim Burton's film "Big Eyes" on Thursday, 30 July 2026, at 5:30 p.m. The event takes place at the Urban Theater of Centro Felicidad (CEFE) Chapinero, located at Calle 82 #10‑69, and will run until the venue reaches capacity, with no prior registration required.

The movie, directed by Tim Burton, portrays the life of painter Margaret Keane, highlighting the 1950s art phenomenon created by her large‑eyed portraits and the later legal battles over authorship with her husband. The screening is part of the district’s strategy to decentralize cultural programming across Bogotá’s neighborhoods, alongside a simultaneous free theater performance, "Profundidades del olvido," at the Museo Colonial, offered through the Nidos early‑childhood arts program.
