Boguszów‑Gorce Ultra Marathon attracts 450 international runners despite heat

Around 450 athletes from Poland, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Lithuania, Ireland and Japan competed in the 36 Sudecka Setka festival in Boguszów‑Gorce on 27 June 2026. Participants tackled three distances, including a 100 km ultra under temperatures above 20 °C at night. Organisers were praised for water supply and trail marking. Of the 114 starters in the 100 km race, 61 reached the finish line; the last finisher took 21 hours 17 minutes. Winners included Karol Duda (10 h 08 min) and Aleksandra Gruszka (12 h 05 min), the latter noting she became the first woman to complete the race in first place overall. Local officials, including Mayor Daniel Lubiński, announced that the new half‑marathon will become a permanent part of the event. Spectators enjoyed live music, fireworks and strong community support throughout the weekend.
