Boguszyna: Driver detained after hit-and-run collision on DK8

A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on October 5, 2026, on National Road 8 (DK8) in Boguszyna, on the route between Kłodzko and Wrocław. A Volkswagen Golf reportedly crossed into the oncoming lane on a curve and struck a BMW, causing significant damage to the latter.

Five people were involved in the accident across both vehicles, resulting in two injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen and a passenger in the BMW were taken to the hospital. The collision caused a complete blockage of the DK8 in both directions for several hours, though the road has since been reopened.

Following the crash, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended. New information suggests the driver may have been a wanted individual residing illegally in Poland, potentially using forged documents, and may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
