Bohemia Interactive announces DayZ Badlands release date

Bohemia Interactive has announced the release date and details for the upcoming DayZ expansion, titled Badlands. The expansion is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set in the new Nasdara province, the expansion introduces a massive 267-square-kilometer desert environment. This setting shifts gameplay away from dense forests toward an arid landscape where extreme heat and dehydration are primary survival threats. Players will need to utilize specific regional clothing with low thermal insulation to survive the climate.

A key feature of the expansion is the new rebuilding system. Unlike previous makeshift barricades, this mechanic allows players to repair, secure, and expand dilapidated building complexes using materials like concrete and metal. Additionally, the expansion will feature overhauled looting and communication mechanics, including expanded radio frequencies for receiving encrypted messages.
