Bohemian FC launches charity jersey to support Cuban medical aid
Irish football club Bohemian FC has unveiled a special jersey for the 2026 FAI Cup, created in collaboration with the electronic music group Massive Attack. The design is inspired by Cuban soccer uniforms and highlights the historical connections between Ireland and Cuba, specifically referencing the Irish heritage of Che Guevara.
Thirty percent of the proceeds from the jersey sales will be donated to medical aid organizations, including the Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal and mediCuba-Europe. These groups provide essential medicines, surgical equipment, and hospital supplies to Cuba to assist with the island's ongoing humanitarian crisis and medicine shortages.
The jersey features various symbolic elements, including an illustration of Che Guevara by Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick, quotes from Guevara's 1965 anti-imperialist speech, and a phrase from the Massive Attack song ‘Teardrop’.
