Bohumín invests 3 million CZK in firefighter equipment
The municipality of Bohumín is investing approximately three million CZK to upgrade equipment for its volunteer firefighters. As part of a Czech-Polish cross-border project, the funding will provide various units with new gear, including thermal imaging cameras, trailers, and protective suits.
Specifically, the Vrbice unit has received a new inflatable rescue boat capable of carrying five people and necessary equipment, replacing a vessel lost during the 2024 floods. The Starý Bohumín unit is also receiving a Strong aluminum motorboat.
The project is heavily subsidized, with European grants covering 80% of the costs and the state contributing an additional 5%. Beyond hardware, the initiative includes professional training and joint tactical exercises between Czech and Polish firefighting units.
