Boiler explosion at Itaiquara Alimentos kills two in São Paulo

Two men, aged 43 and 54, died following a boiler explosion at the Itaiquara Alimentos plant in Tapiratiba, located in the interior of São Paulo. The incident occurred around 7:51 a.m. while the victims were performing maintenance on the machinery.

Three other individuals, aged 43, 62, and 62, sustained serious injuries in the blast. They were rescued and transported to the Municipal Emergency Care unit in São José do Rio Pardo.

The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has registered the case as a suspicious death. Local police in Tapiratiba will investigate the causes of the explosion. Itaiquara Alimentos, a company specializing in biological and chemical yeasts and flour mixes, has not yet issued a statement regarding the accident.
