Collegiate athletics: Boise State enters Top 25 as Pac-12 play begins

Various collegiate athletic programs are entering critical phases of their seasons across multiple sports. In football, Boise State has entered the national rankings at No. 22 following a dominant victory over Western Michigan, positioning them for a potential Group of Six spot in the College Football Playoff. Boise State coach Spencer Danielson has emphasized maintaining focus on upcoming Pac-12 play despite the recent ranking.

In volleyball, several teams are beginning conference play. Utah Volleyball, ranked No. 23, is preparing for road matches in Kansas, while Washington State is offering free tickets for its first home Pac-12 match against San Diego State. Additionally, South Florida is hosting American Conference matches against Rice and Temple.

Soccer and other sports also see significant activity. The Pac-12 women’s soccer season features high-stakes matchups, including a ranked battle between No. 19 Utah State and No. 22 Texas State. In men’s basketball, Colorado State has released its inaugural Pac-12 schedule, which includes a round-robin format and key home games against Gonzaga and San Diego State. Meanwhile, Fresno State women’s soccer is preparing to begin Pac-12 conference play following a challenging non-conference schedule.
