Boise State and Fresno State win Pac-12 football openers
The Pac-12 Conference has commenced its new era of football with several key matchups. No. 22 Boise State secured its first conference victory by defeating Utah State 37-18 at Albertsons Stadium. The Broncos' offense was led by Maddux Madsen, who threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns, while Dylan Riley contributed two rushing scores.
In another matchup, Fresno State made a strong Pac-12 debut by defeating Washington State 26-6 in Pullman. The Bulldogs' defense held the Cougars to just 182 total yards and a season-low 30 yards rushing. Fresno State's victory was bolstered by a touchdown run from Rayshon Luke and a field goal from Manaki Watanabe.
Additionally, the Fresno State women’s basketball team has released its 2026-27 schedule, which includes its inaugural season in the Pac-12. The team will play eight home games at the Save Mart Center and will participate in the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas in March 2027.
