Boise State moves 2027 Western Illinois game to season opener

Boise State and Western Illinois have announced a schedule change for their 2027 matchup. The game, originally set for September 25, 2027, has been moved to August 28, 2027, at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

This adjustment follows an NCAA decision to adopt a uniform 14-week regular season starting in 2027. Under this new model, FBS programs may begin seasons during Week Zero, which will become the standard Week 1. With this change, Boise State has finalized its non-conference schedule for the 2027 season, which includes subsequent games against Appalachian State, USF, and Marshall.
