Bojonegoro religious affairs office enforces smoke-free zones

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in Bojonegoro has established a task force to enforce smoke-free zone (Kawasan Tanpa Rokok or KTR) regulations within its offices and affiliated institutions. This initiative follows a local regency circular regarding pilot programs for smoke-free areas.

The enforcement covers religious affairs offices (KUA), madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and places of worship. Head of Kemenag Bojonegoro, H. Amanulloh, stated that while the goal is to create a healthy environment, implementation will be gradual. In areas where smoking is not strictly prohibited, designated smoking areas will be provided to manage the transition.

In addition to socialization, the ministry is encouraging the installation of no-smoking signs and using social media to educate the public on the new regulations.
