Boćki man charged after striking 4-year-old son with vehicle

A 47-year-old man is facing charges after striking his 4-year-old son with a car and trailer on a private property in Boćki, Podlaskie. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 16, around 9:00 AM. The child was transported to a hospital in Białystok via rescue helicopter and is being treated for lung contusions; medical professionals state his life is not in danger.

The suspect has admitted guilt but refused to provide further explanations, claiming he believed the child was safely inside the house. He has been charged with endangering a child under his care, an offense that carries a potential sentence of up to five years in prison. Investigators and the District Prosecutor's Office in Bielsk Podlaski are examining the circumstances.

This is the second such incident involving the same man on this property. In August 2023, the man struck and killed his 10-month-old son while reversing a vehicle. While a lower court initially sentenced him to eight months in prison for causing the death by negligence, an appellate court later reduced the sentence to a fine of 2,000 PLN in October 2025, citing the traumatic nature of the loss.
