Bola Tinubu returns to Abuja after six-day Lagos visit

President Bola Tinubu is concluding a six-day visit to Lagos and returning to Abuja. During his stay, which followed a working vacation in Europe, the President marked Nigeria's 66th Independence Day with a national broadcast and attended the premiere of the documentary 'MKO', which covers the legacy of Chief Moshood Abiola.

As part of his engagements in Lagos, Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the Iga Idunganran Palace to receive counsel and prayers for his administration. He was accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.

Coinciding with his departure, President Tinubu has ordered an immediate investigation into a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State. An ATR-42 aircraft, tail number NGR 931, crashed in a swampy area near the Igbokoda naval base while traveling from Benin to Lagos. Preliminary reports indicate that 25 passengers and seven crew members were on board the aircraft.
