Bola Tinubu urges Nigerians to prioritize public good over personal gain

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerian public officials and citizens to prioritize the national interest and the common good over personal ambitions and self-aggrandizement. Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the President emphasized the need for leaders who possess a deep devotion to public service and patriotism.

These remarks were made during a thanksgiving service at St. Monica Cathedral in Yola, Adamawa State, celebrating the 70th birthday of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr. Boss Mustapha. Mustapha, who served from 2017 to 2023, was recognized for his role in coordinating government policies and leading the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Other regional leaders also attended the event. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang described Mustapha as a benchmark for integrity and called for increased unity among political leaders in the Middle Belt. Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri also commended Mustapha for his contributions to nation-building and his steadfastness in public governance.
