Bolano dog death investigation: Cane Corso found dead on short chain

A Cane Corso was found dead in a courtyard in Bolano, in the province of La Spezia, after being kept on a two-meter chain. The animal was reportedly living in extremely precarious and restricted conditions.

Local Carabinieri from Follo and Varese Ligure discovered the dog and are currently investigating the exact cause of death, including whether the animal died from suffocation caused by the chain. The owner faces accusations of animal maltreatment and violations of laws regarding the use of chains to restrict animal movement.

In response to the incident, the LNDC Animal Protection organization has announced it will join the legal proceedings as a civil party to seek justice and ensure the owner is held accountable if the investigation confirms the chain contributed to the death.
