Bole begins construction on 120-bed specialised trauma hospital

Construction has commenced on a 120-bed specialised trauma and emergency hospital in Bole, located in the Savannah Region. Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu confirmed that contractors have mobilized to the site to begin work on the facility, which will occupy a 16,000-square-metre footprint.

The hospital is designed to provide critical medical services that previously required residents to travel long distances. Planned features include a 24-hour accident and emergency unit, trauma resuscitation bays, emergency operating theatres, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and a High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Additionally, the facility will house specialised trauma wards, a dedicated burns treatment unit, orthopaedic and surgical units, and modern imaging and diagnostic services. This project is part of broader government initiatives to expand healthcare access in the Savannah Region, following the recent site handover for a 160-bed Savannah Regional Hospital in Damongo.
