Bolivia: 153 former officials denounced over Hotel Las Américas case
In Bolivia, two individuals prosecuted in the Hotel Las Américas case have filed a complaint against 153 former authorities and officials. The complaint, presented to the prosecutor's office in Santa Cruz, alleges that the state failed to comply with recommendations issued by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in 2022.
The legal action targets former officials, prosecutors, and police officers involved in a 2009 operation. The charges include murder, attempted homicide, torture, deprivation of liberty, injuries, and threats. The complainants argue that the state violated the fundamental rights of Mario Tadic and others affected by the original incident.
