Bolivia and Venezuela celebrate Pedestrian and Cyclist Day

Various cities in Bolivia and Venezuela held celebrations for Pedestrian and Cyclist Day, focusing on promoting healthy habits and reclaiming public spaces through vehicle restrictions.

In Bolivia, Oruro observed the national holiday with a ban on motorized vehicles from midnight until 6:00 PM. Families utilized the streets and plazas for walking, cycling, and participating in the sixth edition of the “Sergio Zilvetty Pardo” unpowered stroller race. In La Paz, the National Police Academy (Anapol) joined citizens at Plaza del Estudiante for a day of sports, including yoga, zumba, and volleyball, to encourage physical exercise.

In Maracaibo, Venezuela, municipal authorities organized a Sunday cycle path event. Local police and firefighters provided security and monitoring to ensure the safety of thousands of cyclists and families using the routes for recreation and training.
